The name says it all. The spring leaves of this desirable Maple are an intense wine red with a fiery glow! The colour holds well into summer. Strong upright growth habit. Would make a strong statement as a specimen tree or perhaps consider a group of 3 for a real bit of wow! Deciduous.

A dwarf Sango kaku. Discovered in Australia this dwarf form looks like a winner for those that want a true Sango but have little space. As with all colour barks you should not grow in really cold areas or wet areas. But for most this is a very nice smaller tree. Deciduous.

This gorgeous dwarf form of acer palmatum is a winner for those with little space. Small light-green leaves emerge with orange-red margins in spring. These turn yellow-green in summer before going a beautiful golden-yellow to orange in autumn. A compact, dense grower; a nice small tree. Deciduous.

 

Kandy kitchen is a smaller cultivar of Acer Palmatum and is presented here as a 40cm std. It's leaves are pink at first but mature to become green with a purplish hue. In Autumn they make a spectacular show when they turn brilliant red. Prefers a sheltered position and well-drained soil. Deciduous

Japanese Maple. This is a beautiful Maple that is definitely a favourite of mine. The dainty, new spring leaves emerge pale yellow with hints of orange and red before slowly turning green over summer. In autumn the yellow and orange tones are once again to the fore prior to leaf fall. Deciduous.

Acer 'Katsura' will do best in a sheltered position with protection from harsh wind and hot afternoon sun.

"Koto-No-Ito" means harp strings, and it has been named as such because of it's narrow strap like leaves that dance in the wind. The green leaves change to yellow and orange in autumn. This tree has a rounded, dense habit. Prefers moist well drained soil and full sun. Deciduous.

This Japanese Maple has feathery foliage that emerges burgundy red in the spring and is known for holding its red colour right through the summer taking on a vibrant crimson red in autumn. Rightfully named, Lace Lady, the foliage is deeply dissected and forms an attractive loose crown. Deciduous

One can only assume that this Maple was so named because of the strong vigorous growth. Personally I think it should be called simply gorgeous! The long dissected crimson leaves sensuously droop on red stemmed branches. Definitely a must have. Deciduous.

Japanese Maple. What a special little tree this is with an outstanding structure and interesting over-lapping foliage. The new leaves emerge a light green maturing to fresh bright green. A lovely Maple for smaller gardens or a container. Plant in a sheltered spot. Deciduous.

This variety was the Maple Society of North America's Maple of the Year in 2015.
